G7 foreign ministers will hold annual meeting on Monday, Europe and Japan expected to seek the United States on a series of issues clear, especially the Syrian issue.
Just before the meeting, the United States sent a naval strike group near the Korean peninsula, because the outside world worried about North Korea's nuclear ambitions, and Western countries and Russia is still difficult to overcome years of mistrust.
But the Syrian civil war is the main topic of the meeting, and Italy hopes that the final communiqué will strengthen the United Nations efforts to end the six-year conflict.
The meeting will allow Italy, Germany, France, Britain, Canada and Japan for the first time have the opportunity to ask the new US Secretary of State Tillerson, whether Washington is trying to overthrow Syrian President Assad.
However, it is still unclear whether Washington wants to step down against Assad or launch a missile attack. Many European countries are pushing Assad to step down.
The G7 Foreign Ministers' Meeting will also prepare for the summit in Sicily at the end of May.
